I help clients build practical coping strategies, while rediscovering meaning and purpose. I frequently work with clients who have experienced a recent death, chronic illness or challenges adjusting to a life transition. In our sessions, we work together to find a path forward.
My approach is informed by my own experiences of grief and living with a chronic illness. I do not believe ‘everything happens for a reason’, but I know hope and healing can be found even after life’s most devastating challenges.
I have a compassionate, direct, and nonjudgmental approach. I believe therapy should be collaborative, meaning we will work together to figure out what is most helpful to you. This might include talking through your feelings, mindfulness exercises, meditation, or expressive arts.
For nearly a decade, I was a hospice grief counselor. I am certified in Thanatology, the study of death, dying and bereavement, through the Association of Death Education and Counseling (ADEC).
