Our life experiences and our relationships with others create a unique story about our lives. My approach to counseling is to help individuals, couples, and families discover pathways to finding peace and joy in the present and hope for the future. This may involve digging into past experiences and relationships to find different meaning and/or evaluating the circumstances of the present. Counseling offers an opportunity for everyone that is as unique as the fingerprints we leave in the course of our lives.
I have worked for 30+ years in the DFW area as a veterinarian. During this time I developed a desire to help the humans that I have interacted with. I bring my own life experience and knowledge about relationship dynamics to the therapy room using various theoretical models including Narrative, CBT, Solution-Focused to name a few.
All of us desire for our thoughts and feelings to be heard by another and for a close connection with family and friends. In a society that constantly contradicts itself by telling us to "conform and fit in" while also saying, "be unique and stand out," how do we navigate life?
