Warm, down-to-earth, experienced, effective... I bring compassion and understanding to every concern. I help clients to reduce worries, anxiety, panic, social discomfort or isolation, adjust to life transitions, soften grief and bereavement, cope with chronic illness, and to transcend past emotional injuries. I also work with individual adult clients to develop healthy relationships, to shift old patterns of relating, and to heal trust, love, trauma and loss (including pet loss). While the focus is often on current issues, understanding the influence of past experiences and relationships can be an important part of the process.
My approach to therapy is supportive and practical yet looks beyond the surface of issues, drawing upon the most current psychological approaches as appropriate to the client. I provide psychotherapy including psychodynamic, CBT, EMDR therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based and grief therapy.
I would like to help you feel better and grow in ways that can improve your life. Please contact me for a more personal introduction.
