Hello! I'm a psychologist and a certified life coach, and I love working with clients who prefer an active, direct, practical, and instructive approach that includes learning some tools that you can apply on your own. My clients describe me as curious, gentle, kind, and calm, but also challenging when that's helpful. They say that after some time working with me, they can hear my voice during difficult times, reminding them of what we have talked about. Ideally, I know my clients so well that sometimes we can laugh together about what's happening. I have two specialties: women with weight struggles, and dementia caregivers.
I help women who struggle with weight issues and chronic dieting, to overcome emotional eating and make peace with food, without focusing on weight loss. I work best with women who want to stop dieting and focus on health and well-being rather than the number on the scale. I also have years of experience with seniors and supporting dementia caregivers.
I've had lots of my own therapy and coaching, so I know what it's like to be looking for someone. Learning acceptance, focus on the here and now, managing my thoughts, and how to process emotions are what have helped me the most, so this is what I focus on. With practice, it is possible to retrain your brain, which I find fascinating and inspiring!
