About
I switched from school counseling to working as a therapist when I realized that more time was needed directly with my students. I have a laid back style and can work quickly or slowly, whatever works for you. I love to watch my clients grow and have those “lightbulb moments” to help with independence and success. I love to work with children, adolescents, or adults-anyone who has struggled with chemicals, is in recovery or a family/close friend of anyone struggling. I also work with clients who are pursuing change after grief. Change and grief are hard, and I am happy to help.
I strive to provide a calm, laid back environment where clients can talk. I am also available via teletherapy and have evening hours available. I believe a client should work at his or her own pace and provide honest thoughts and opportunities with an open mind. I prefer to use MI or CBT, but if that does not appear to be working, I’m flexible.
One of my favorite people on earth was my high school counselor. He was kind, patient, knowledgeable and accepting. That is what I hope to be like with my clients. I’ve seen such resilience with my clients; I learn as much from them as they learn from me and it’s so inspiring to watch a client grow into happiness.
