I am a licensed clinical social worker (with a doctorate from Columbia University) with over 40 years of practice experience with children, families, couples, and adults. My approach to our work is "psychodynamic" and I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship. I am open to consultation, crisis intervention, short term therapy, and more intensive, insight oriented treatment. The "ideal client" is the one who is willing to work hard. So am I!
My specialities are in work with children and families, single adults, and couples. I have had specialized training and years of work experience in the areas of scute and chronic illness, bereavement, and all aspects of adoption--domestic/international.
I am sensitive to issues of birth parents, adoptees, and adoptive parents.
My initial training was in family therapy, and I later completed Seattle's first ever child therapy program. I have been an international consultant for Unicef, worked in war zones, and have designed and provided techical assistance for children's programs in former Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Vietnam, and Ethiopia.
