English
| español The lasting effects COVID-19 have created a long lasting crisis situation that is exacerbating depression, anxiety, feelings of fear and hopelessness, and triggering unhealthy regressive patterns and behaviors. It has placed stress on marriages, partnerships and families, and has left us feeling disconnected, frustrated and fearful. If you are in distress and need help to reestablish and maintain healthy connections with your partner(s), family, friends, work environment, or yourself, I am here to help.
We will work on navigating this especially stressful time by defining goals, improving communication with your loved ones, and exploring coping skills. We will also explore personal and family history to define and process unresolved issues/traumas that might be exacerbated during this time, and which have a negative effect on your relationships.
We are also experiencing a paradigm shift regarding race and ethnicity, which necessitates a different therapeutic consciousness that is more holistic, and that includes the issue of how racism and inequality affect mental health. My approach includes a focus on ways that these issues affect you, either as a person of color or a white ally.
