Are you constantly feeling sad and down? Going to work daily and can't wait to get back home to sit in the dark? Feeling irritable and angry several times a day? Crying yourself to sleep at night? Feeling helpless and hopeless? Are you feeling numb? Not motivated? Saying to yourself, "I'm so confused and overwhelmed by all these emotions- yours, mine, and ours." Feeling life has no meaning and purpose? You may be functionally depressed. Depression affects roughly 7.1 % of the U.S. population has experience at least 1 depressive episode in their life. Through the use of CBT skills, you can be taught to kick depression.
I serve women of color by teaching resiliency and recovery through life stages and healing from trauma. Teaching emotional skills to express feelings, increase communication skills, develop interpersonal relationship skills, and setting appropriate boundaries. Additionally, providing tools for coping with depression, anxiety, & anger management.
Change is critical to our understanding of who and what we are as a human being. Any person who lacks, the ability to change, lacks the ability to grow in virtually every meaningful aspect of life. Unfortunately, that person will, in all likelihood, be subjected to a host of potential psychological impairments.
