My name is Jessica Vaught. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in depression, anxiety, stress, and behavioral problems using Patient Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. My communication style is an open and honest one. I want my clients to feel comfortable when speaking to me. I want them to feel safe and heard. Most of all, I want them to know that therapy is a place where they can speak freely without fear of judgment.
I decided to become a therapist after career day in seventh grade. My classmate’s mother shared her story about what it meant to be a therapist. She did it with such enthusiasm that it sparked an interest in me. As I grew older, I knew that was the path for me.
My approach to goal setting is a collaborative approach, as clients do best when they are involved in goal setting. I support the clients as they work to identify their needs and their goals for therapy. I help the clients set attainable goals that will lead to their desired outcomes.
