My experience is in working with individuals and couples who struggle with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, emotional regulation, and martial/relationship distress. Increasing one's awareness of their present experience and motivations I believe is essential for change. I set out to create a non-judgmental environment that will promote growth and movement towards interacting intentionally in relationships. Somatic and psycho-biological approaches influence my work, as well as utilization of mindfulness and regulation strategies. While I value the past and believe our experiences develop how individuals manage emotions and engage their surroundings. Therapeutic work tends to focus on how strategies are working/not working for individuals presently.
I have received training in EMDR, "Natural Processing", and Somatic Experiencing so I may support a deeper understanding of how to best work with client's processes and the reprocessing of traumatic memories. I utilize a psychobiological approach (PACT) when working with couples.
