My name is Jessica Smith and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addition Counselor (LAC) based in Canon City, Colorado and working with client's statewide via telehealth. I work with adults of all ages and specialize in anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, addictions, self-injury, trauma, and adjustment concerns. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy comprehensive/skills training. I feel these modalities help my client's gain skills to navigate live's difficulties and work towards living a life that is fulfilling.
I have found that my style and approach is a good fit for adults of all ages. I find that client's and myself often get stuck in a pattern of behaviors and can benefit from looking at those actions from a nonjudgmental stance and behavioral perspective.
I, like probably all of us, have had personal experiences with my own mental health concerns and with family members' managing addictions. I've always wanted to help others struggling with concerns so that they can live the most valued life they can and support the people in their life by taking the time to care for themselves and others.
