My approach to therapy is depth-oriented. While I do not believe that insight in and of itself is curative, I do believe it’s a necessary first step in the healing process. Once we gain insight into the roots of our problems, we can begin to respond intentionally when in a state of emotional flashback rather than automatically reacting with fight, flight, freeze or fawn. I believe in the power of truly feeling through our emotions and in creating a safe space for my clients to do just that. I believe the therapeutic alliance should be one that fosters self-discovery and healing in a safe, nonjudgmental, empathic environment.

I take a trauma informed approach to the counseling process. I am experienced in assisting clients in recovery from both complex childhood trauma and adult relational trauma. I am well-versed in the insidious nature of emotional abuse and the dark triad. Recovery from narcissistic and/or sociopathic abuse is a major focus of my practice.

My approach stems from a wide range of theories, and because each person is unique, the approach I use with every client is specifically tailored to that individual. I believe that each person has limitless potential to heal and grow. It is my honor to walk beside my clients on their path and to help them to find the wisdom in their own inner voice.
