At some point in life we all need a little help finding our way back to our sense of self and security. Life events, a global pandemic, mental illness, substance abuse, and trauma can take us all off course. Therapy can be what helps to guide us back to our path. I believe healing occurs in the context of human relationships, so I take a relational approach to therapy. Understanding and finding satisfying relationships are vital to our mental health and life quality. Children, adolescents and adults all want to be heard and understood, and therapy can aid in finding emotional connection.

I use mindfulness techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and attachment theories to inform my practice. These techniques can help individuals reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression and increase their quality of life. My clients learn concrete ways to reduce anxiety and depression, while exploring relationships and past events.

SPACE (Supporting Parents of Anxious Children)

SPACE parenting group is a 12-week group treating child anxiety & OCD. SPACE is an evidenced-based short-term mental health intervention to reduce child anxiety and OCD symptoms. Parents will learn about childhood anxiety, understand their child’s symptoms, and come up with a plan to decrease “family accommodation” and provide increased support to their child. While parents are not to blame for their child’s anxiety, they can be part of the solution to assist and treat their child.

Divorce Support Group for Parents

Parenting is hard, and parenting with a difficult co-parent is even harder. Divorce can be complicated, disheartening and dehumanizing. We see the value in divorced parents coming together as a community to cope with stressors such as: parenting young children, active litigation, trauma, loss of relationships and abuse. The group is peer/professionally led. Please reach out to inquire or join this monthly support community. Support group is free of charge.
