I believe that all people are capable of making changes in their lives, and to be invited into that process as a therapist is an honor for me. My philosophy is that therapy is a partnership that is rooted in trust. My job is not to give advice, but to help you in exploring and finding the answers that are already intrinsically within you. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including substance abuse treatment facilities, as a behavioral health consultant at a primary care practice, and as the program director for an integrated dual diagnosis program.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), I have been providing counseling to adults and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, trauma, grief and loss, bipolar disorder, and a multitude of other life challenges since 2005.
My office is located at Carolina Beach, which is in southern New Hanover County. I work in a group practice with two other licensed therapists and we are the only psychotherapy practice on the island. I offer individual and group counseling to adults and adolescents.
