About
I'm Jess, and I am a bisexual therapist specializing in LGBTQ+ friendly, trauma-informed therapy for folks who are hoping to find release from shame, anxiety, childhood wounds, and a strained relationship with food and their bodies. My journey to becoming a therapist began with my own mental health experiences. I felt overwhelmed, isolated, and consumed by self-critical thoughts. I longed for support, but I felt scared to be vulnerable with someone else about how I was /really/ doing and the things I was /really/ questioning. My relationship with food mirrored my challenge with reaching for what I wanted and needed.
I know how difficult it can be to be vulnerable with someone, especially when you have shared with others before and felt judged or misunderstood. If you long for a space where you can share and be met with support and acceptance, I would love to meet you. After working together, my hope is that you can feel more connected to yourself and others.
I believe it's important to acknowledge how being white, cis, thin, and able-bodied have allowed me to safely access mental health care. I am committed to cultivating an anti-racist, fat liberation oriented, neurodiversity affirming, disability affirming, and LGBTQ+ friendly space. If you are ready to build compassion toward all parts of you, let's talk.
