Seeking help from a stranger during times of struggle takes a vast amount of strength and courage. It is that strength and courage that we will lean on and explore together in order to navigate the difficulties life throws our way. As a counselor, I primarily utilize Brainspotting. I also utilize EMDR and a systemic, strength based approach, primarily Cognitive Behavior therapy, to assist individuals and families with enhancing their existing assets to realize their treatment goals. My clinical experience is diverse and includes working with adolescents, and adults, as well as marital, couples, and family therapy.
I am a trained Brainspotting therapist which reveals a client’s unprocessed traumas through fixed eye positions which helps the flow of information between the "thinking brain" and the "reactive brain". I am also a trained EMDR therapist. Both modalities are beneficial with a variety of issues such as PTSD, anxiety, depression and more.
Sometimes we respond to things in a way that doesn't always make sense to us. Everything feels foggy, dimmer. We get jumpy, our hearts race, we get sweaty.
