Making the decision to pursue therapy is a huge step. It’s easy to push things down or avoid them, but making the choice to reach out shows strength. Maybe you’ve never had a safe space to share your true thoughts and feelings, or felt truly heard and understood. Let’s build that together here!
I am passionate about helping survivors of abusive or unhealthy relationships learn to rebuild their confidence and find their voice again. When we experience relational trauma, whether that be in a romantic context, or during our childhood, this significantly impacts how we feel about ourselves and how we navigate future relationships.
My approach to therapy is somatic-focused and trauma informed. Trauma inhibits our ability to feel safe at a base level, especially with others. It can keep us living "on-guard", hesitant to trust, or let go of control. Somatic therapy helps us return to feelings of safety, peace and calm by releasing and regulating emotions through our physical bodies.
By allowing our bodies to safely experience emotions, rather than suppress them, these emotions can move through us, vs. getting "stuck" in us. This can also be a useful tool for those who struggle to talk about their emotions, since the focus is on physically releasing them instead.
I work with adults only. Telehealth therapy is only offered at this time.
