About
Hey, most people call me Jess. I believe counseling is a mutual relationship. I view each person I see as the expert in their lives and I am in the passenger seat. My approach to counseling is holistic; every person is different, therefore every counseling approach does not work for everyone. I will take the time to work with you to find what works best for you. Since everyone is different; if a client and I do not mesh well, I will help them to find a counselor who works better for them.
I am Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Certified and EMDR trained. I have worked in the field of childhood trauma and family violence for 3.5 years. Before that I worked with older adults as well as individuals suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer's. I enjoy working with those from all ages, walks of life, and backgrounds.
I want to remind anyone reading this, you are not alone and it is okay not to be okay. My job is to be the mirror in your life, to reflect your goals and work together to reach them; while validated and processing through each hurdle together. We will be challenged, but we are in it together.
