I am current LPC-A at Oceanic Counseling Group. My internship experience was spent counseling veterans through a trauma-focused and CBT lens. I aim to help people who are feeling distress in their life uncover the origin of their symptoms and promote healing. Our past experiences and learned behaviors can often contribute to the mental health struggles we face today; together, we will uncover patterns developed throughout your life and examine the traumas you have endured. Trauma-focused counseling is for anyone who feels that the weight of their past and present are too heavy.
By using therapeutic tools and interventions, we will consider how your past or present experiences are contributing to the symptoms you are experiencing. A trauma-focused lens will allow you to uncover your stressors through the how, why, and when of their origin. Throughout this process, we will use coping skills to promote growth and peace in your life.
If you feel distress and discomfort surrounding any aspect of your daily living, counseling can help to identify the why and build towards promoting a happier life.
