About
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia with 8 years of experience. I enjoy working with people at many stages of life, from teenagers to older adults. My goal as your therapist is to help you understand and gain the tools necessary to work through what you are experiencing be it depression, anxiety, grief, or stressful life transitions. I provide warmth, humor, advocacy and encouragement within the therapeutic relationship.
I have experience working in a medical setting providing counseling to those encountering new diagnoses, treatments, and life transitions. In this setting, I adopted an evidence-based therapy that values understanding oneself as a whole amidst any crisis called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which I use in conjunction with other therapies.
The therapeutic techniques that I developed in the medical field apply broadly to many concerns. I tailor the techniques I use to meet your needs and goals in therapy. I am available to meet with individuals, couples, or families. Please let me know how I can help you and reach out to me today!
