Life can be hard at times for all of us, and our challenges can seem even more overwhelming if we face them alone. Having a caring therapist can make all the difference in the world. I work with individuals, from childhood through adulthood, and I believe that all people have the wisdom and strength they need to succeed-sometimes they just need help finding it. I prioritize empathy and compassion in my work and use a trauma-informed approach. I lean on CBT principles and have also found clinical applications of EFT to be helpful with self-regulation and trauma. With children and teens, I make use of play therapy techniques.
After 15+ years as a helping professional in the religion sector, I went back to school and studied clinical social work at the University of Memphis so I could become a therapist. I continue to study new tools and approaches, and find myself enriched by regular ongoing work with clinical supervisors, so that my clients receive the best care possible.
I currently see clients at Samaritan Counseling Centers of the Mid-South. (Some evening and early mornings appointments may also be available.) In addition to insurance, Samaritan also works with self-paying clients and has a sliding scale for low income and uninsured clients, so that all people can access quality mental health care services.
