Suffering is universal. We all suffer in our own way for our own unique reasons. My aim is to help individuals turn their suffering into a constructive experience. I believe we can find meaning in our universal struggles that will help us grow and lead productive lives. During my clinical training I worked with clients who experienced substance abuse, domestic violence, sex addiction and worked with offender groups. I also supported individuals suffering from anxiety, depression and with histories of trauma. I have worked extensively in group settings, as well as with individuals and couples.
I believe a strong therapeutic alliance is the cornerstone to counseling. I take an eclectic and individualized approach to counseling, and use a more person-centered, strength-based, and sometimes existential approach to our work. I use techniques from various modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment or Gestalt Therapy.
My approach is playful but direct, and I believe that laughter is an essential element of the therapeutic process. My goal is to create an environment that is above all, safe and accepting, compassionate and collaborative. My hope is that all of my clients feel seen, heard, understood and supported.
