Trained in both community mental health and marriage and family therapy, I have been a counselor for almost two decades, where I've worked in a variety of settings with clients from many diverse backgrounds. My approach to counseling is person-centered and highly collaborative. Even though I have years of education and experience, I firmly believe you are the expert in your own life, and my job is to help you tap into and activate your innate strengths to reclaim your ability to heal from difficult life experiences.
My specialties include helping clients navigate loss and grief as well as supporting clients through the complexities of religious trauma and/or deconstruction, although clients come to me with all kinds of mental health concerns, including needing assistance while facing distressing, confusing, and often unexpected life and/or relationship transitions.
I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is laid-back, calming, nonjudgmental, thought-provoking, and sometimes surprisingly light-hearted when the moment calls for it.
