I really don't have an ideal client as all individuals are different and have unique strengths and weaknesses that are useful to them in some way.. I tend to take a strength based approach and encourage independent problem solving dialogue. I feel very comfortable working with nearly all ages even younger children so long as their parents are actively engaged with treatment. Depression, anxiety, personal relationships, separation and loss, and disrupted adjustments are all within the scope of my work. Now, with telepsychology there are more opportunities to connect with people.
Special interests include men's issues such as self-image, sexuality, pornography habits and anger. Couples and individual work are both challenging but very rewarding and often are merged as I believe people are complex, multifaceted and connected in many different ways to others including and importantly to their significant others .
I love what I do. I care deeply about the people I help. I am very aware of the special status a clinical psychologist/therapist has in the lives of their clients. Also, and though it may sound odd, I am in the business of getting out of business!!
