I specialize in working with married couples and providing premarital education and counseling, Discernment Counseling, and single who are striving to form healthy romantic relationships. I enjoy working with individuals who are navigating a faith crisis or faith journey. I have received specific and extensive training in working with couples. I find that couples struggle because partners within the relationship are too busy trying to protect themselves from emotional turmoil and pain that it is difficult to consider the ways to create safety for their partner. My goal is to help couples create an emotionally safer relationship.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I am a Certified EFT Therapist. Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) is one of the most well researched and successful models of couples therapy. Further, if you have experienced a difficult disruption in you faith, I'm her to help you navigate that process and facilitate hope moving forward.
Because I teach and do research, I bring a unique perspective to therapy sessions that is very applied. Couples leave my office with specific tools and strategies to help their relationships. I am also an active member of the LDS faith.
