I specialize in working with married couples and providing premarital education and counseling, and Discernment Counseling. I have received specific and extensive training in working with couples and have developed my own program for preparing couples for marriage. I find that couples struggle because partners within the relationship are too busy trying to protect themselves from emotional turmoil and pain that it is difficult to consider the ways to create safety for their partner. My goal is to help couples create an emotionally safer relationship.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I am a Certified EFT Therapist and Supervisor. Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) is one of the most well researched and successful models of couples therapy. I offer couples a road map on how to repair from disconnection and find each other again.
Because I teach and do research, I bring a unique perspective to therapy sessions that is very applied. Couples leave my office with specific tools and strategies to help their relationships. I am also an active member of the LDS faith.
