I would say an "ideal" client would be one who is open to vulnerability and recognizing the strength in vulnerability, and puts that strength into staying committed and involved all throughout the process of therapy. The client has to be ready and willing to confront those uncomfortable spots in their life, while also being capable of staying motivated in their treatment in-and-out of the counseling space.
I create a safe space for patients to express their concerns openly during appointments. While formulating treatment plans, I prioritize each individual's needs, preferences, lifestyles, and goals. I employ evidence-based approaches to assist patients in developing healthy coping strategies. My go-to approaches are CBT, IFS, and Person-Centered counseling.
Though we inhabit our bodies, we may not know exactly who we are, and we may change, but that is okay. Sometimes, we will have our doubts, but finding yourself in your own journey makes the eventual results much more fulfilling. I hope that I, as your therapist, may get to see you grow into the truest version of yourself.
