Announcement icon These are unusual and uncertain times. In response to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, I am offering sessions by video or phone.
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming because it is crucial to find the right fit. Knowing this, I aim to create a strong therapeutic relationship with an emphasis on trust and acceptance. My style is interactive, practical, and infused with sensitivity and a sense of humor. I work collaboratively with my clients to set goals, identify barriers to growth, increase coping skills, and build on existing strengths. My aim is to assist my clients to access their own inner wisdom and resilience.
I am inspired by film, music, poetry, and pop culture and often utilize aspects of these and other art forms as reference points in my therapeutic work. I have extensive experience working with creative professionals, the LGBT community, and stressed out New Yorkers of all varieties.

Jeremy P Ortman's Groups

On Intimacy: A Therapy Group for Queer Women

The central focus of the group is how do we relate more intimately? Discussion might include navigating the blurry boundaries of friendship and romance, knowing when to hit the gas or the brakes in a new relationship, sex and all its complications, managing evolving relationships with your family of origin or the family you've built, and reflecting on the intersection of sexual orientation with all the other aspects of your identity.

More about this group

Gay, Bisexual, Trans, & Queer GBTQ+ Men's Group

Together we explore a variety of issues in an affirming and confidential space. Themes such as love, isolation, anger, conflict, intimacy, gender, sexuality, and more are explored. This group provides a unique opportunity to: - Broaden your sense of community - Strengthen communication and connection - Reflect on what it means to be a queer man - Develop skills to resolve conflicts instead of escalating or retreating - Learn to express your feelings by balancing the depth of the heart with the wisdom of the mind.
