EMDR Trained. I specialize in Trauma, Addiction, and Relationship Issues. I am also working toward specializing in the treatment of OCD. Each of these issues creates profound difficulties in our ability to engage meaningfully in the present. My work in each of these areas focuses on the origin of these struggles. Trauma creates deep emotional wounds that affect the way we view ourselves, others, and the world. Learning how to relate differently to yourself in the scope of traumatic memories will help you to improve your ability to connect with others, yourself, and your environment.
Addictions come in many forms and are usually fueled by the struggle to experience and feel safe in negative emotions. By learning to understand, experience, and respond to our emotions in healthy ways, addictions can become much more manageable.
Often our highest distress happens in close relationships and this often happens because of unhealthy patterns of attachment which stem from our childhood. I will help you to gain insights into how childhood experiences impact the way you relate to others and more importantly, I will help you to find new ways of relating to those around you.
