After many years in the film business as a studio executive and producer, I found myself craving a way to have more meaningful impact and authentic connection with others. I made the switch to psychotherapy, and have never looked back. My love of story and character in film feeds into my fascination with the human psyche, and how the stories we tell ourselves become the makeup of our lives, for better or worse. I have seen time and again that when people are able to challenge their maladaptive stories and assumptions- about self, others, and the world- they tap into much richer and more expansive possibilities for themselves.
I use evidence based approaches like CBT, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and for couples, the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy, I have found that- if the client wants- incorporating mindful awareness practices into the work can be powerfully beneficial.
