Making the decision to begin therapy is not always an easy one, and the fact that you've begun your search already demonstrates perseverance and motivation to feel well again. My approach to therapy is rooted in relational psychodynamic theory, but I will frequently use a variety of cognitive and behavioral techniques, depending on you and your life story. The most important part of any treatment, however, is the relationship between the therapist and the patient, and therefore it is my ultimate goal to help you feel comfortable and supported in a non-judgmental, warm environment.
I believe it is this inclusive, collaborative perspective that allows me to foster a secure and productive therapy experience with a wide variety of patients. I am a New York State licensed psychologist and have had experience treating individuals across the developmental span.
Alongside being a therapist, I am also a teacher and a researcher. I want to be able to teach and inspire the clinicians of tomorrow, and I am also invested in testing the treatment I am providing to make sure it is working and getting the results you desire.
