About
Hello and welcome to Dreaming Tree Counseling. You are so courageous for considering the next step in your healing journey! My name is Jennifer (Jen) Towns (she/her). It is my personal and professional belief that everyone can discover their most authentic and successful self. I invite you to a safe space where you can learn to trust, speak your truth, and realize your potential for emotional growth and change. I practice trauma-informed holistic therapy - blending somatic body work, EMDR, IFS / ego-state parts work, and a general recognition of the impact of traumas and attachment wounds on ourselves and our relationships.
Together, we'll map out early experiences of attachment and trauma - and how those early life blueprints impact you and your relationships. We'll answer the question of "why did I respond that way?!” and gain understanding and compassion for all parts of you - even the parts that are associated with anger, shame, or fear.
Regardless of treatment modality or diagnosis, the primary focus will always be on YOU - how your life is impacted, and how we can work to get you back to a functional and peaceful place. I specialize in working with individuals and couples who need support related to experiences of trauma and the LGBTQQIA+ community.
