Hello! Do you feel like you're frequently battling unwanted thoughts and feelings? Are you getting "bossed around" by them in a way that's affecting your ability to enjoy life and feel present? Or negatively impacting your relationships, work, or other important areas of life? If so, you're not alone. Life can be challenging, which makes it difficult at times to make choices that are in line with what's best for us. I use a research-based therapy called acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), which includes mindfulness techniques and defining your values. ACT therapy helps people get back to living more meaningful lives.
I treat issues such as anxiety, panic, OCD, depression, relationship problems, parenting stress, and postpartum and adjustment struggles. I am accepting, nonjudgmental, and collaborate with my clients. I use humor and warmth, and my sessions are interactive. I welcome people from all ethnic and religious backgrounds and my practice is LGBTQIA+ friendly.
I will teach you skills so you know what to do when you are caught up in challenging thoughts, emotions, and/or physical symptoms (e.g., panic). Do not hesitate to reach out to me. I am happy to answer questions you may have about therapy and also help you determine whether I'm a good therapeutic match for you. It's important for you to feel comfortable!
