My general approach to therapy is to provide relatability and a strong therapeutic relationship in an environment, where clients feel respected and understood. Developed over 17 years of experience working with adolescents and families with a diversity of backgrounds and situations, I enjoy seeing clients with a range of presenting issues. I have a particular interest in helping clients through life’s many transitions, including relationship and family issues, career changes and supporting young adults (and their parents!) struggling with post high school transition or failure to launch.
I put an emphasis on creating a warm environment for clients using relatability, authenticity and humor. I employ a flexible, creative approach to therapy that is individually focused on the unique qualities of each person. Clients are encouraged to take an active role in therapy, gaining insight and awareness into their experiences and challenges.
Within this collaborative environment, clients have the opportunity to develop deeper personal meaning and new ways of experiencing life are possible. Additionally, I am a licensed drug and alcohol counselor that provides support for clients struggling with substance usage issues, but not yet needing higher level treatment.
