I became a therapist because I believe that there is healing and growth that comes from giving other's space to share your life story. In facilitating this process, I will help you process life's events, uncover your personal truths, and make meaning out of your experiences. I realize that in doing so, you will find new meaning, depth of purpose, and healing. While I am qualified to work with a range of issues, I especially enjoy working with children, adolescents, and young adults, by supporting their development, facilitating their personal autonomy, and helping them navigate life's early years.
I integrate a variety of therapeutic tools and techniques, while fostering a warm and safe atmosphere. I have special training and competence with mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and identity / developmental issues, and has received specialized training in CBT-P through Stanford University.
When you meet me for the first time, you can expect a warm, open presence. I treat the first few sessions as a "consultation", meaning that the two of us will have an opportunity to get to know one another before committing to a course of treatment. I acknowledge that the quality of fit between therapist and client is critical to treatment success.
