I am a particularly good fit for clients who tend to intellectualize their problems and who are unaccustomed to tapping into their emotions. I am a more interactive therapist. I see therapy as a conversation. If you are someone who has been frustrated by therapists who are detached, I may be a good fit for you. I am patient and I will not push you into going deeper than you feel comfortable with at the moment. I know that change and trust are slow processes and I will respect your ability to set the pace of your own therapy.
I tend to work from a mindfulness based perspective and I have strong experience working with alcoholics/addicts and their loved ones. I also work with many people who have adult ADHD diagnoses in managing their lives, their feelings about the diagnosis, and the toll ADHD can take on their lives and relationships.
I am dually licensed in California and Missouri. I offer in person or online appts to residents of Missouri and online appointments for residents of California. I do not offer couples or family therapy at this time. All of my sliding scale fee appts are currently full, but I do have a waitlist and I offer referrals.

My goal in working with clients is to help you better understand why you think, feel, and react the way you usually do and to help you break the patterns that aren't working for you. Ideally, we can create a moment of pause in which you gain the freedom to act rather than react.

I tend to work in the intersection between neuroscience and Buddhist philosophy and I believe that everyone can change. I generally see depression and anxiety as information rather than illness. To me, anxiety and depression can be seen as symptoms of a circumstance that needs your attention and I work with clients to uncover what that may be.
