I firmly believe an atmosphere of warmth and authenticity helps lead to a constructive, yet positive growth outcome for all individuals. Using an approach geared to address a person’s individual needs, I meet an individual where they are at and help the individual progress towards positive life change. My passion is working with children and adolescents. I work with children and teens experiencing emotional and/or behavioral disturbances, which include but are not limited, to ADHD, depression, anxiety, anger management, and trauma. I want to help children and their families work together to address these problems and find a resolution that adequately fits the needs of both the child and the family.
With younger children, I focus my efforts using a Play Therapy modality to allow a child optimum expression of their thoughts and feelings in order to confront challenges associated with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. With older individuals, I use a foundational approach of Cognitive Behavioral therapy to help individuals develop insight and awareness while building coping skills to manage challenges associated with life transitions, anxiety, and depression.
