Emotional pain is our systems way of telling us something needs attention, just as physical pain alerts us. Within a context of kindness, sensitivity and skill, patterns, longings and distress can be understood and resolved. Maybe you've been struggling awhile or a recent loss, injury or transition has made life feel unbearable. Drawing upon several evidenced based practices we can address any issues you bring to therapy. Good therapy is a permanent gift to yourself that positively impacts your relationships, health, work and quality of life, it can never be taken away, lost or become obsolete.
I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, addictions, abuse and neglect, loss and relationship problems. In addition to having advanced training in multiple treatments, I'm a certified yoga teacher and can draw upon this and other holistic approaches. I partner with several prescribers should we decide medication might be helpful.
In addition to my private practice I train professionals on the neurobiological, physical, psychological and social impacts of trauma and its treatment. I supervise therapists and lecture at universities on the topics of trauma and recovery. I'm located in Cherry Creek and have a very private and comfortable office.

People enter therapy because they are experiencing symptoms. Anxiety and depression are our systems way of communicating with us that something needs our attention. We will come to understand the cause(s). We will use both concrete strategies and a compassionate understanding of yourself to address these symptoms.
