Emotional pain is our systems way of telling us something needs attention, just as physical pain alerts us. Within a context of kindness, sensitivity and skill, patterns, longings and distress can be understood and resolved. Maybe you've been struggling awhile or a recent loss, injury or transition has made life feel unbearable. Drawing upon several evidenced based practices we can address any issues you bring to therapy. Good therapy is a permanent gift to yourself that positively impacts your relationships, health, work and quality of life, it can never be taken away, lost or become obsolete.
I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, addictions, abuse and neglect, loss and relationship problems. In addition to having advanced training in multiple treatments, I'm a certified yoga teacher and can draw upon this and other holistic approaches. I partner with several prescribers should we decide medication might be helpful.
In addition to my private practice I train professionals on the neurobiological, physical, psychological and social impacts of trauma and its treatment. I supervise therapists and lecture at universities on the topics of trauma and recovery. I'm located in Cherry Creek and have a very private and comfortable office.
