Hi. My name is Jen Mayforth and I am a licensed professional counselor who thinks talking through difficult issues, emotional pain, and complicated decisions can be one of the most helpful steps people can take to get through life. Being human is to struggle and I feel passionate about helping people find ways to get through and move toward a better and more rewarding life.
I work with a variety of people from adolescents on up, including couples, families, and older adults. I am very comfortable helping people with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, stress, trauma, codependency, burnout, relationship disappointment, conflict, life transitions, and grief.
I like to be genuine, warm, compassionate, and kind. Depending on your situation I can feel like a friend, coach, mentor. or mom. I try to balance listening with collaborating with clients to find alternative solutions or interpretations while validating the frustrations and disappointments people feel.
