My areas of strength are relationship building and my compassion and warmth when working with adolescents and adults. I am able to build a sense of strength and hope with clients that I work with in treatment. I have a realistic and reasonable approach in meeting the individual needs of clients. I believe that each person requires personalized treatment and needs to be communicated with throughout the therapy process.
I have worked with the adolescent population within the school setting as a special educator and school counselor. My 8 years of experience in a Middle and High School setting gave me the ability to relate to teenage issues. These include peer relationships, gender identity, self-confidence and life transitions for the college student population as well.
I use an integrated approach to therapy with the main focus being Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I feel that being able to identify automatic thoughts, rationalizing and restructuring thoughts is essential to bringing about positive mood changes. I am dedicated to providing ongoing support. I am currently accepting new patients.
