Making the choice to engage in therapy is a meaningful step towards the possibility for change. Change may include addressing problematic feelings, thoughts, or behaviors that leave you feeling stuck or dissatisfied. Or change may involve learning to cope with the unpredictable and often overwhelming challenges that life presents. Therapy can play a pivotal role in providing the nonjudgmental support, the opportunity for self-understanding, and the guidance in developing the effective strategies that are often needed to make change a reality. I will work with you to determine if I am the right therapist for you.
I take an active, collaborative, and flexible approach to therapy. I typically integrate evidence based (CBT, DBT) and psychodynaic techniques, based upon each individual's needs, to assist my clients in developing strategies to reduce symptoms, enhance communication, increase insight, and ultimately change the patterns that contribute to their concerns.
Prior to transitioning into private practice, I dedicated a decade in professional roles within major NYC teaching hospitals. Areas of expertise include: depression, anxiety, ilife transitions, grief, relationship issues, family addiction, and medical issues.
