Jennifer Jacobsen's Groups

Sex Abuse Survivors Group

Are you a survivor of sexual abuse? Are you looking for a safe place to process your experience without judgment? In this group, survivors are believed, accepted, and no longer feel alone. Members will learn to reclaim their power by speaking about their experience, naming their feelings, and hearing about the experiences of other members. The group will offer validation and support from other survivors, connection with others who can offer feedback and coping skills, psychoeducation, recognition of trauma symptoms and ways to care for yourself in the process.

More about this group

Overcoming Shame and The Fear of Vulnerability

This group focuses on the work of Dr. Brené Brown and her work around shame resilience. Dr. Brown says, "Shame is the intensely painful feeling or experience of believing that we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love and belonging." We will learn to shed our shameful thoughts, actions and feelings that tell us we must be perfect in order to be loved and instead learn to embrace our vulnerabilities and imperfections. We will learn to cultivate the courage, compassion, & connection that we need to recognize that we are enough - that we are worthy of love, belonging and joy.
