I work with individuals and couples to help them understand themselves and improve their relationships with others. I believe that our patterns of relating, which are often formed in childhood, have an oversized impact on our sense of personal well-being and our ability to develop healthy, lasting connections with others. Many of the people I see suffer from anxiety, depression, grief, addiction and other mood and personality problems that originated from traumas – big and small – experienced earlier in life.
I will help you explore the ways in which your personal and familial history may be distorting how you see yourself and others. I view my role as helping you unpack this history, with the goal of finding new ways to interpret and respond to it that will ultimately lead to a greater sense of freedom and range of possibilities in life.
I work with queer people and others whose identity is marginalized by social and cultural norms. I provide a non-judgmental and safe space for you to face and work through your problems and develop new ways of being and relating in world that can often feel dangerous and overwhelming.
