Jennifer Hoffman, MSW, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in West Hartford
Many of us face pressures of balancing work, relationships, family, aging parents, children and financial stress among others. With support from someone who can help you feel empowered, teach you coping skills and provide direct but caring feedback; you can achieve the firm footing on the path to peace and personal acceptance. My caseload includes men, women and young adults. I specialize in trauma and PTSD, anxiety/depression and life changes: job changes, divorce, empty-nesting, health etc. I offer clients a safe, judgement-free space where connection is valued.
With 16 years in school social work and 12 in private practice, I offer a unique and helpful perspective. I use humor and empathy to help my clients remove the barriers that keep them from experiencing their fullest relationship to themselves, their spirituality, their careers, and their loved ones.

Jennifer Hoffman's Groups

Men's Process Group

I think men can often feel isolated and end up feeling like no one has ever experienced what you are experiencing; no one thinks the way you do or feels the way you do. Groups can help us realize we do share much of the same internal experience. Having peers to support us, empathize and laugh with us can be as healing and helpful as individual therapy. Men have feelings too! Come as you are and share what is going on for you-work, relationships, kids. Leave feeling supported, heard and with some new skills and ideas.

More about this group

Mindfulness Group

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we're doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what's going on around us. There's growing research showing that when you train your brain to be mindful, you're actually remodeling the physical structure of your brain. We meet weekly to meditate and learn other ways to be mindful. Feel more in control of your emotions, have more empathy, and release stress.
