Hello, I'm Jennifer Broomfield, LICSW. I see therapy as a partnership and take a client-centered and trauma-informed approach. I find fulfillment in helping clients recover from trauma and develop healthy relationships. I am a member of the LGBTQ community and has 25 years of experience in mental health and allied fields. I specialize in CBT, DBT, EMDR, and mindfulness. I use a variety of approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Mindfulness.
I focus on serving the LGBTQ+ community. I am most comfortable assisting clients in managing depression, anxiety, trauma, identity and relationship issues. I see therapy as a collaboration with my clients. I work together with clients to build a toolbox of skills and resources for them, making sure that it is tailored to the unique needs of each client.
Since childhood, I have always wanted to help people. I considered many options but found clinical social work to most closely align with my core beliefs regarding the importance of respecting and appreciating differences as well as the important role the environment plays in our development.
