I aim for clients to feel safe enough to talk about the things they never really talk about. Can't talk about with others. Are not even sure WHAT they need to talk about but know it's something because their body tells them so. Nervous systems adapt ways each person carries their burdens from childhood into adulthood but that doesn't mean it's working well. My clients are seeking to understand the root issues of problem areas, how their mind and body are connected in storing trauma, emotions, patterns of familial dynamics, and figuring out how to break cycles that limit a fulfilling life to just surviving day to day.
I specialize in complex trauma and the neurobiological effects on behavior. The majority of my career has involved treating formerly incarcerated individuals as well as those in inpatient psychiatric care. I continue to focus on the impacts of life experiences on trauma responses, core beliefs, confidence, codependent relationships, and emotion regulation.
Trust is a huge part of therapy. I want to create a space for you to trust that we can get to the bottom of what you are struggling with and build trust in yourself that you can handle it. I don't pretend to know everything, but I DO geek out on a lot of topics for clarity. I create visuals, use dry humor and memes, and my therapy dog to enhance our time.
