I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been a counselor for 12 years. I enjoy working with teenagers, adults, couples, and families. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, anger management, grief, trauma, self-esteem, relational issues, familial issues, and spiritual issues. My passion for counseling lies in teaming up with my clients in order to better help them learn how to cope and problem-solve, as well as learning how to better maintain healthy relationships. While we may not ever be able to be rid of the discomfort of emotion or the difficulties of life, we can certainly become stronger.
I primarily use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) / Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Brief Solution-focused Therapy to help clients work toward their goals.
Counseling is not so much about meeting with a person who has all of the facts or can fix all problems but having an outside support who can be present for you to empathize, encourage and occasionally teach through the emotional/behavioral difficulties as well as life struggles we all face.
