About
People should feel secure in finding the right "fit" with their provider. I work with children/adolescents and adults. As a school and clinical psychologist, I understand childhood behavior, adolescent needs and parenting issues as well as the school system. I support adult concerns of anxiety, depression, interpersonal functioning, and life transitions. I offer support from an eclectic orientation and invest in tailoring my work to your needs. I promote interacting with others compassionately, with realistic boundaries, and with care for oneself. We all need a place to feel "heard". Feeling understood, we become open to learning.
I believe that to support children, we need to teach parents. I share my knowledge with parents so they may connect with their children through improved understanding, empathy, and problem-solving. Connectivity with adults is also important - for oneself or a partner. As we restructure our thinking, our feelings and behavior change for the better.
People comment that they find me "refreshingly real" and "very relateable - like we can sit and have coffee." I don't subscribe to "right or wrong." I believe in redirection to a "different" path through empathy and specific, proactive strategies.
