I work hard to be a strong ally and advocate who believes transformation comes through a collaborative process. My goal is to teach clients to learn to recognize their strengths — to be their own best friends, champions, defenders, and cheerleaders. I like to help my clients to think of how internalized pressures of societal and cultural norms and expectations create added stress in their lives. of course, challenging norms and expectations are hard. But first-hand experience doing just that gives me a unique perspective and the opportunity to help others do the same so they can embrace what truly makes them happy.
I use a relational approach and a trauma-informed lens, integrating methodologies including CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, and art to help clients identify patterns, increase self-awareness and create positive change. I believe that therapy should feel relaxed and comfortable so you can feel engaged and trust without fear of judgment or bias
I know that the idea of starting therapy can feel overwhelming, stigmatizing, shaming, or burdensome; but it shouldn’t. Sometimes, by the time we decide to find help, it’s because we feel like we’ve hit rock bottom, and we’re stressed to capacity. You know the pattern. Now, let’s get ahead of it.
