I work with queer and non-monogamous people struggling with disconnection and dissatisfaction in their relationships; typically accompanied by conflict avoidance, people pleasing, and painful self-sacrificing. My clients often struggle with identifying their needs, holding boundaries, and standing up for themselves in love, even at the expense of their own emotional safety.
When people find my office they are often feeling alone, exhausted by constant internal tug-of-war, and frustrated at the repetitive nature of their inner and outer conflicts. Accompanying anxiety and depression are often long-term struggles as well.
Many of my clients are highly attuned to other's emotions, but disconnected from their own. They know how to keep the peace, avoid conflict, and caretake, but struggle to identify what they actually feel, want, and need underneath the anxiety and guilt. Together, we identify the ways you override yourself in relationships out of fear.
I know firsthand how easy it is to lose yourself in relationships while trying to keep love intact, getting stuck in cycles of overthinking and self-abandonment. Thankfully honesty, boundaries, and emotional self-trust are skills that can be learned. You CAN build relationships rooted in honesty, mutual care, and genuine choice, rather than fear.
