My heart and expertise are in the area of dealing with relational issues whether it be between a couple or between parents and adult children. So many times, communication gets in the way of being able to deal with the real issues so there is no real resolution. I also have a great desire and many year of experience in working with women's issues. Each individual experience we go through, does affect us, however, that does not mean that we cannot change the way we respond to situations or the way we think about things.
I also work with Pathological Gamblers and their family members. The gambling not only has a negative impact on the family financially, it has a direct impact upon relationships within the family. If the gambler is not ready to get help, there is still help for the family.
I believe each person is valuable and wants to be heard. My goal is to help each person that walks through the door of Cooks Counseling deal with the issues that he/she is currently experiencing or issues that are keeping him/her "stuck" in the past.
